BOSTON | Richelieu one-cut

This elegant and harmonious oxford has the particularity of weighing only 350 grams, almost half of a shoe with leather sole! The Boston is a men’s shoe that can be worn with everything manufactured with a microcellular rubber sole (ideal for back problems and long walks!) with black construction. It is a one-cut oxford with a round and slender last that goes well with a formal suit as well as with jeans. It is very comfortable. The patina is included in the price.

The result of several years’ research

With the Boston 2R, we set ourselves the challenge of creating an (R)evolution: a dress shoe that’s as comfortable as a trainer, yet visually faithful to a dress shoe. So this high top shoe is Blake stitched with a leather insole. It has been combined with a microcellular rubber sole that replaces and enhances the flexibility of the footwear. This innovative structure means we can offer you a resoleable shoe that’s as light and comfortable as a sneaker and weighs just 350g (instead of 700g).

The essential Richelieu

Caulaincourt is particularly fond of the richelieu. It is the shoe that represents masculine elegance. Boston is the fourth one-cut richelieu in our collection. This type of shoe is made from a single piece of leather, cut and sewn only once on the back of the shoe. We’ve mounted it on the Bonaparte last, which strikes a perfect balance between finesse and roundness. The look is sleek without a hint of stiffness, so the shoe can be worn with a suit or jeans. The comfort of the fit is enhanced by the Blake stitching, which adds a great deal of suppleness. These shoes are entirely handmade in France.

It’s an art that makes a pair of shoes unique. Boston is particularly well-suited to this process, as nothing can impede the fluidity of the patina across the entire surface. Handmade in our workshops, our patinas sublimate the leather. We can create an infinite range of discreet shades such as brown and grey, or let your creativity run wild with the colours of your choice. We can create gradations and nuances, reproduce the look of wood, take inspiration from the colour of honey… tell us about your project and we’ll make it happen.

Tip: if properly cared for, our shoes will last a very long time, because they can be resoled and the leathers used are of the highest quality.
